in this workshop you will explore the basics of Ayurvedic Principles and get tools and techniques on how to apply those principles to your daily life.  Ayurveda translates to the Science of Life (Science being the Experiment).  You are the Scientist, but you are also the Experiment.  It is the balance between the Physical, Mental, Spiritual and Sensual bodies.  If there is not balance, there is no life.

You will discover your dosha and it’s qualities and attributes.

You will learn what it takes to keep your dosha in balance, and if your dosha is not in balance, you will learn how you can bring it to balance.

You will learn about the qualities/attributes of the doshas and their Actions

You will discover the six tastes, their effects, energies, elements and food sources. You will also learn where they fit into your dosha.

You will gain an understanding of what an unbalanced dosha might look like so that you can recognize how it would feel inside of you.

You will gain insight on the types of food there are, and how they effect the body and mind.  You will also get a food guideline to help you in your shopping and efforts to balancing your dosha.

We will go through a daily ayurvedic self care so that we can know how to properly cleanse the body and keep it functioning at it’s healthiest levels.

For good health and well-being to be maintained, the three doshas within you need to be in balance. That does not mean they need to be equal, unless you were born with equal doshas; it means that you need to maintain your original doshic make-up (prakriti) through life as much as possible to maintain good health.

Unfortunately, factors such as the dietary choices you make, the lifestyle you lead, the climate where you live, levels of environmental pollution, the work you do, the nature of your relationships with people and even just the passage of time can cause one of more of the doshas to increase or decrease from its original level in your constitution, creating vikriti (imbalance). If this imbalance is not corrected, you eventually lose your good health. That's why restoring balance is the central theme of the Ayurvedic approach to health.
